This collection of local stories, legends and fairy tales is meant to help children read with clear articulation so that they can learn to clearly and exactly understand and master their own local language. It is also expected that by this way they can someday become bilingual or polyglot which can lead them to be more knowledgeable and good in communication. Thus in the middle of globalization and modern life, they learn to love their own local culture and try to live it out and develop it in their daily life which hopefully strongly based and deeply rooted in their embeded local culture while trying to identify their self identity. This collection of local stories, legends and fairy tales is also meant to provide materials as local contents for students at schools, who speak Bahasa Lamaholot in dialect of Udak-Lewuka and the surounding. The parents and the teachers of this region are reminded to be aware of, to respect and to loyally pass on these noble values contained in these local stories, legends and fairy tales for the sake of self identity development of the next generation in achieving a brighter and happier future.
